It is a myth...that radiation from mammograms causes cancer. This form of radiation is low-dosage and therefore considered safe.

It is a misconception...that mammograms cannot be done on breasts with implants. A mammogram can show the breast tissue surrounding an implant.

It is a myth...that antiperspirant increases your risk of developing breast cancer. Antiperspirants and deodorants are in no way associated with breast cancer.

It is a misconception...that pain is a common sign of breast cancer. Pain is usually associated with non-cancerous breast conditions. Unusual breast sensations should still be reported to your doctor.

It is a myth...that breast cancer is a disease that you can get from someone else. You can not give it to the people with whom you are close.

It is a misconception...that swollen lymph nodes mean cancer is present. Swollen lymph nodes may be caused by a number of conditions. In any case it should be reported to your doctor.

It is a myth...that wearing an underwire bra is a risk factor for developing breast cancer. Bras have never been shown to cause breast cancer.
